Motherdog

This piece is at the show that just opened at Brockport. She is one of my favorite ceramic artists and I was so excited to see her work again in person!
"This mother dog is the ultimate family pet, since she appears to be carrying the entire crew upon her body! She appears to be the hub of all the action and energy yet somehow manages to nurture her suckling little ones, hanging resolutely at bizarre angles as they nurse. The mother dog is clothed in frilly dress clothes, part princess, part clown. While she may not have time to herself to groom, she does manage to look amazing with her intricate collar, made up by wriggly but admiring children. Is it possible that she is panting because she is out of breath?!" (from her website.)
